Does Methotrexate Help With The Pain And Discomfort Of RA? Any Side Effects?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I just started methotrexate at a dose of 20mg per week. I have been nauseated and weak (more than usual). Will these symptoms subside after my body adjusts to the medicine?

@A MyFibroTeam Member, thanks for the info. I haven't heard much from anyone else and was disappointed that no one answered. I'm pretty nervous about starting biologics, obviously the side effects are terrible. I have a shitty immune system, several chronic illnesses and although my Dr is wonderful I can't help but be anxious about getting the flu and such. After my appt yest we left things that she was going to do the financial background first step, and the office will call me when I have insurance cleared. My hubby is envious that I have a chance at getting better, he has crappy ins. and big copays. And he works construction so he's broke a lot of bones and such. Thanks for listening, I need a chance to air my concerns. Warm gentle hugs

Thanks for the add. I also would like to share info with you about RA and various treatments. I have tried Humira and Enbrel with no improvement. I just started a new injection called Cimzia and I think it's helping!

I have read great things about methotrexate but the side effects are harsh. I was in bed for 2 days following my first dose. It's hard to take a medication that "might" help and will definitely make you sick.

Keep me posted on your progress.

@A MyFibroTeam Member and @A MyFibroTeam Member I haven't tried methotrexate yet. I was prescribed but the insurance only covers a small portion so I passed. Now I'm given time to research biologics, since the other drugs I've been taking aren't working. Even though I have changed my diet and nutrition is improved, my inflammation levels continue to rise😞. I would like to add you to my team, I would find it helpful to know more people with RA issues too.
