I feel great I am now off klonopin, I was on that dangerous drug for about 12 years. Is anyone else here on klonopin? Or how did you get off the medication? Do you have any withdrawals since stopping?

Wow! I've tried a lot of times. I get suicidal and agoraphobic. So I saw the cpap machine mentioned does tHat help. I'm supposed to have one.

I can relate. I had a deviated septum. Whenever I walked briskly or up a large hill my sinuses would swell and block off my ability to breathe through my nose. I did do the surgery. First few days were the roughest to get through while splints were in but then it got better. No problems now. The Bi-Pap machine works the best because it does not give continuous air pressure but adjusts to what you needed. My pressure vacilates between 10 and 19 during the night so I never feel like I am getting the wrong amount of air. Has it been awhile since you've seen the sleep medicine specialists about your situation?

I'll definitely remember all this but I highly doubt my doctor, also a psychiatrist, would take me off cold turkey. He gradually increased my meds when he had to increase them. He's looked up meds for me that he never prescribed, my GP did. He sits right at a computer and has access to everything. LOL If he even tried, I would refuse. There's so much documentation proving you need to be weaned off it, like @A MyFibroTeam Member said, they would be in so much trouble!! Most reputable doctors wouldn't chance it! If I were you @A MyFibroTeam Member I'd find myself a new doctor.

Congratulations on conquering that horrible drug. I know first hand what a challenge that was. I was on klonopin for over 5 years. I went off morphine and klonopin at the same time. I felt like I was going to die. I went through post acute withdrawal syndrome. Just awful. I'm proud to say that I've been off the medication since October 28, 2014. I have some issues that will effect me long term. For instance, I never had fibromyalgia until detoxing from 5 medications at once. For 2 and a half months I hardly left the house except for Dr appointments. The reason I went off the medication was because my Dr got in trouble with the DEA and lost his prescribing license for controlled substances. His patients was not given a one time prescription to dose down, we were just left to face withdrawal. After talking to a few drs I chose to go in to the hospital and detox. The meds he had me on was a dangerous regimen. And he had also diagnosed me with Parkinson disease which I do not have, so I had to go off the meds for that also. A total of five meds. I was in the hospital 8 days. It wasn't to bad, or so I thought, the worst was still to come. Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome. It's the worst thing I've been through in my entire life.
