A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone ever lose track of time, like you feel like it's 6pm but really it's only 2 in the afternoon. I ask because this has happened almost everyday for like 2 weeks. Is it fibro fog? I'm also the same with the date. I thought today was the 21st and was told it was the 25th. I about freaked out. I'm so confused about it.

I actually went through speech therapy for the fog. I was surprised to find that speech therapy address a multitude of cognitive functions.

The fibro got really bad and I was no longer able to work. I missed all kind of appointments.. I hardly ever knew what the date is. I ask the same questions over and over again. I forget whether I have taken my pills or not. When I am in a lot of pain I sometimes don't know when I took my Tylenol 3. That can be a painful mistake because I have to wait. I'm trying to remember to write the time on my fridge calendar. I now put appointments on my frige calendar and my husband always checks it and reminds me. He checks with me the night before and and makes sure I am awake in time for morning appointments. I don't know what I would do without him.

I have this often. I used to be able to remember a number I dialed one time a year ago. I can't even remember what number it was from five minutes ago. I have to write EVERYTHING on a calendar or I would never get to appointments, or pay bills on time or get meds refilled. It is terrible! You are not alone at all! I also had some tests run by a Neurologists due to mainly extreme numbness in my toes and then m fingers, and I was numb so many more places, however my B12 was completely depleted and I do have to take monthly injections to keep this amount where it should be. Reason I am stating this is I did a little research a month ago or so and it does state that also if your B12 is low it also deals with your brain, and memory, that kind of thing. It also helps with your fatigue more probably than anything. If you haven't had that checked, I don't think that it would hurt.... That is what happened to me and I would have never known if like my two big toes were numb for 2 weeks and then only my middle fingers, or so I thought! So many more places were numb and I had absolutely no idea! Hope that maybe this might help!

I keep lots of lists in my phone and check off when I have done them. I set alarms for everything...meds, meals, when to make phone calls, when to get into the car to go to the dr.

Yes, I often lose track of time...either slower or faster than actual time, and sometimes I get my days so mixed up I will be a day ahead or a day behind all week. Gentle hugs, Butterflies...
