Hot/cold Temps
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had heard people with fibro hurt more in heat but it seems to be the opposite with my daughter. She hurts more in cold but she absolutely hates the heat or even being alittle warm. Anyone have experience with this

Completely. Cold makes you swell up and districts blood flow and hurts joints. Heat causes a weird feeling almost exhausting

I hurt worse with the cold. My joints lock up. Heat isn't too bad unless it's storming and humid.

For myself, I can't stand the heat. I didn't particularly enjoy it before Fibro, and I certainly don't know. I immediately become soaked in sweat, beat red in the face and chest and my heart rate is over 100bpm (beats per minute). I become severely irritable and agitated as well.
In terms of using heat as a form of ease and comfort from fibro pains/strains, I would say yes, it does help me. This is especially true for warm baths and heating blankets.

Heat helps my pain -- maybe it just helps to relax me, I don't know. Cold makes it worse. That's my two bucks. (inflation, you know) :-)
