Im from Ireland and have been waiting since the start of January for disability allowance , in March I got denied disability as they said I was not qualified even tho my gp said I was and anyway turns out nearly everyone get denied disability over here, cause basically they don't like giving money to people who need it
Anyway I appealed for a second opinion in March and have been waiting to hear back from them, which they keep saying will be another couple of weeks before I hear anything.

Definitely wait it out and appeal it if you are denied again. Send it in with a note from your doctor and with your office visit receipts and prescription receipts (copies). This is exactly what an attorney would do for you. Fibromyalgia is now recognized as a debilitating medical disease. You are eligible for disability with it. My prayers will be with you. I understand completely how difficult it is to wait for all the paperwork to go through. It does take several months. God bless you. Lila
Hi there sweetheart if I was you I would wait it out for your disability it's no good even trying to work with Fibro you will only make your self worse with the pain and it's not worth it trust me I've been there x sending you a hug x
Personally, I don't think you should take a job as a waitress. It's a job that someone who suffers from fibro can't handle. Look for a job like sitting with an elderly person or perhaps a low profile receptionist. No stress or weight bearing. Bless you. L
I was like you 20 years ago but Fibro was practically unheard of then and it took me 10 years before I got a diagnosis because no one believed my pain and suffering as no-one knew what was wrong with me. I had no choice but to continue working as I had a mortgage to pay and was on my own.The only way I was able to cope was by paying for private prescriptions for dexedrine (amphetamine)tablets to dull the pain and give me false energy to go to work everyday. The only way to recover from fibromyalgia is to pace yourself but I didn't know this at the time and thought I could just keep popping uppers to keep me going.By the time I got my diagnosis, I was a wreck. My gp said by continuing to work thru this illness and for so many years and thru no fault of my own,it was unlikely that I would ever recover and compared my situation to driving a car in third gear for 10years!luckily, I was successful with his help in getting DLA which meant I was just about able to manage financially. I am 41 now and I am bedbound and housebound most of time and I have little quality of life and I have missed out on having children and living life really.I guess what I am trying to say is only return to work when you feel well enough to do so. You have to pace yourself in order to get better which you will if you make right lifestyle changes and do the right things to help yourself. There is nothing more important in your life than your health and if you go back to work before you are well enough you will make your symptoms and your long-term prognosis worse.if you gotta survive on pennies for 2 or 3 months to get well again that's what you have to do or you may end up being unable to work and living on benefits for years. There will be other jobs in the future but you can't buy your health back. Don't you get esa in Ireland and don't you have support from your family?
If you want to give a try and work, there's plenty of jobs way better for you then waitress!! Have you think about receptionist at the hotel or call taker somewhere..
