Antidepressants are used to treat chronic pain conditions because they believe that serotonin is involved with pain processing. Antidepressants are used to treat other things besides depression now. I have not had luck so far with them for pain only anxiety and sleep. I have not tried Prozac personally. I took Cymbalta for 2.5 years and recently stopped. I believe it somehow made my pain worse!
