Motrin Platinum Muscle And Body?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi has anyone taken Motrin Platinum muscle and body for Fibromyalgia pain? My doctor has me on Cymbalta and Amitriptyline but neither help with pain and he says I'm too young to be given pain medications cause my body will get used to them at such a young age.

It's interesting that your doctor wouldn't prescribe you any pain medication. I'm 22 and was given tramadol at about 18 years old. I do not take it daily and don't take more than one per day. I actually had that concern with Cymbalta. Both getting used to it or just long-term damage it could do starting so young. I'd talk to another doctor about getting you some pain medication. If you get less relief from it over the years, you can always switch since there are so many different types of pain releivers in the world. I also agree with @A MyFibroTeam Member that using a combination of pain meds with other treatments is best so that you can avoid relying on Rx's. Light stretching multiples times per day is easy and supposed to help immensely along with cardio exercise a few times a week. I'm also doing myofascial release therapy and I find chiropractic work helpful. Work on finding the combination that's best for you and your body! Good luck!

Acupuncture helps a lot for the pain. See if you can't find somebody near you to do it. Some of the physiotherapist are also trained it. Mine is (Here in south africa

I'm surprised that neither the cymbalta or amytriptyline help with your pain. I'm not against some pain meds although I do agree wit @A MyFibroTeam Member and @A MyFibroTeam Member that they should be used with a combination of other treatments so you aren't so reliant on the meds. The Motrin may be OTC but it's also still another med. You are very young and I hope you are able to find some methods that will help you together with medication
