Has Anyone Had An Hysterenctomy And What Happened Afterwards?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have had back pain most of my life due to fracturing 3 vertebrae at 15 and it has steadily worsened as I got older and heavier. After having my kids I have always been tired and had to nap during the day but I always figured it was due to being a mum.
In March 2014 I had an hysterectomy and I feel like the real pain and fatigue and brain fog has kicked in since the surgery.
Has anybody else had surgery and found their symptoms got worse afterwards?

I've wondered if my hysterectomy affected me. I think there is a stronger genetic connection as my mother and probably grandmother has/had fibro but no hysterectomy.

I have had several surgeries and had a full hesteremctomy at the ade of 37 and my large /colon went parallized so I had both surgeries at the same time. I had a stoma with an ostomy bag for 18 months until I finLly was le to get ir reverised. I had many issues beside sIng with my surgery. One thing tbiugh is any kind of stress on your body like surgery when you have finri can cause alor id sress and even make you depressed with yourself. I have about 8 other medi al issues aling with this si if hou would ever want to tallk about it more just me know. Big (((hugs))

I had my hysterectomy in November 2014 and felt like I began to be more symptomatic afterwards. I wasn't officially diagnosed with Fibromyalgia until September 2015 but due to my mother having it for 17+ years I was and am very familiar with it. When I would describe symptoms, needless to say we were both praying that it wasn't Fibro, but mostly if it was that I would get better care and concern than she has received. I have two other friends who had a hysterectomy and then found themselves being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder within a year. I wonder if there is a connection.
