I have been referred by my GP for blood tests to rule out/confirm lupus, (and sjorgrens) so I will know soon enough. But in the meantime can I please ask what symptoms you experienced that made you/your GP test for lupus. For me I awake with the usual aches and stiffness we all know so well, but lately (maybe a few weeks) it has been with a sore throat that doesn't last all day, but comes back late at night, I also feel like I am coming down with bad cold/flu (not quite the same as the fluey… read more
I think it might be worth it @@A MyFibroTeam Member, it's best to be sure. That's exactly what I am doing so I have a clearer idea of what might be happening with me and then I can prepare to deal with it xx
@A MyFibroTeam Member I so understand. My eyes have been horrid for almost 20 years. They even draw my blood and spin it down to use the plasma to make my eye drops.
My problems started as the butterfly rash and I break out in a rash if exposed to the sun too much. When I had back surgery, my Lupus came out in full. The muscle aches, nerve irritability, and pain. Along with that came our friend fibromyalgia. It's not fun but you learn to enjoy the goods and survive the bad. :)
I have been diagnosed with sjorgrens and all the symptoms you describe. the sore throat in the am is possibly from no circulation in your room. but the ulcers, dry mouth, dry eyes, fatigue, aches, low grade fever are all symptoms of sjorgrens. me eyes get very dry, they itch and burn. blepharitis is common with sjorgrens. i use aveeno soap or body wash, eucerin calming liotion for itches or the aveeno lotion with cammomile & lavender. when you get out of the shower or bath, wrap yourself in a large towel. then pat dry the rest of your body. do not rub especially the spots that get the itchiest. i use systane drops in my eyes 3-4 times a day and i also keep a small travel bottle of baby shampoo on hand. when you get the really bad crusty eyes use the baby shampoo to clean them. and all of these symptoms also come from the fibro. so at one point you dont know which one to treat.
