5 HTP
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Im trying to stay away from script meds because of the side effects. But I've been reading up on supplements and came across 5HTP. Last night I took it for the 1st before bed @ 100 mg. Today I've felt groggy. Is this supplement suppose to make ya feel that way? And whats the correct dosage for fibro? Ive read all different amounts. Im 5'5 at 124 lbs.

Thank you,
Lisa Houston

I don't think there is an assigned dose, it's more what works for you. Maybe you should scale back to 50. I take 200 at lunch time and I get a little tired but keep myself moving which has helped. I'm 4'10 and 110 lbs if that helps with dosage.

200? Wow. I think i would be on the floor. Lol. I bought a bottle at my local walmart and that was the only "mg" they had. Do u order online? I could probably try Walgreens, maybe? I was taking flexeril that made me feel like crud. I wanted to go w a supplement that wouldnt give me that sluggish feeling. Thank you for the advice.
