Does Anyone Have Any Suggestions/feedback On How To Maintain Your Weight While Dealing With The Pain?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

It's been hard for me to gain my weight back and maintain a reasonable weight. I can handle the pain to a point, but the loss of appetite/nausea is what I'm dealing with. Any food suggestions will be appreciated.

Have you tried Sustagen? My mum always had trouble keeping weight on, she got cancer & had a peg tube, but she lived very well on only Sustagen for about 9 years. She got hers through the hospital but the chemist has large tins for around $20 (Aust) Good luck huni 😊

I love mild soups, ginger tea, cream of rice, and smoothies with kale and other goodies blended in for vitamins. Also eggs can be a mild source of protein.

Sorry you're having trouble eating and keeping weight on. Have you tried drinking Ensure shakes? When I go through periods of nausea I usually eat Campbell's chicken noodle soup, and soda crackers. Sometimes with cheese if I can stomach it.

Valerie, exactly what kind of soups are mild?

I agree with @A MyFibroTeam Member, I think probiotics have really helped with my nausea. Usually when I'm nauseated, I'm able to stomach the idea of toast--sometimes with scrambled eggs. Again, mints or other hard candy can help sometimes but again you have to find a flavor that doesn't make you even more nauseated. I often get nauseated by mint which is the exact opposite reaction mint is supposed to give!
