Have you applied for CPP disability? If so were you accepted or denied? And also how long did it take? I'm considering applying whereas I'm not able to return to work at the moment. I've been told by quite a few people that it's hard to receive disability and that you're always denied the first time you apply. Is this true? Also how hard is apealing their decision? Appreciate any information please.
I just printed out the application forms for CPP. I have heard that most are denied the first time but to appeal. I also know of some that were approved the first time. It may depend on how they were filled out or what other conditions you have. I only have Fibro and anxiety. I've been off work since last March and I know I am no longer able to work. I thought the appeal process involved going to court which sounds very stressful but apparently it is just more paperwork. It can't hurt to apply and see what happens.
I have not applied for myself but I have helped some clients apply. You will be denied. Probably two times. Just know that that is going to happen and don't let it discourage you!! Keep fighting! It may take a long time and you may have to continuously give them paperwork or go back to MD's for exams. Knowing what to expect helps ease the frustration, a bit. I wish you lots of luck!!
I applied for ssi 3 years ago been denied 3 time next it's with a judge. And that's with an attorney
I never went through the CPP disability program. I was accepted on my first submission for the ODSP (Ontario's disability program) but i have other things going on as well. I hope someone is able to answer your question.
