I just started gabapentin a few weeks ago. I too have noticed that I'm eating more. I still have no relief from my symptoms though so not sure this is the right medication for me. Hope you feel better soon. Hugs.

I gained weight and when I spoke to my neurologist he said gabapentin has no place in the treatment of Fibro unless you have damage to areas of skin where you have numbness. I have had various knee surgeries and he told me that it would only help those areas where the nerves have been damamged. That's what I've been told and I do believe it. I felt no difference when I came off it again and I was up to 2700 mgs a day. Hope that helps. Xx

I must admit, other than being hungry, I don't feel that there has been any change in my symptoms with gabapentin, but Dr wants me to keep on it for a couple more weeks to give it a real chance..... Nicola71, that's an intriguing point, I think I'll raise this with my GP xx

If they took my lyrica I would be totally bedridden.

I think gabapentin is pretty well known for that, as well as lot of other medications. It makes it hard taking something that increases your appetite when your trying to keep your weight down. Paxil started my weight gain years ago.
