When your constantly struggling with pain and exhaustion its common to feel depressed too. I have been on antidepressants for years and long before I had fibro. If you are not getting proper sleep this can lead to depression and fatigue. My doctor says proper REM sleep cycle is key to feeling rested and most of us who have fibro have sleep problems. It can be a vicious circle, I would look to find ways to get more rest and that might include starting on a mild antidepressant. I am taking amitriptyline at night to help me sleep. It is an old antidepressant but it is no longer used for that purpose but is common for Fibro treatment for sleep problems. Hope you find some relief soon, gentle hugs.

I hear you. Being in constant pain is very hard on the psyche. When I am going through an unusually prolonged flare up I start to isolate myself from everyone and everything. Feeling only my pain, trying just to be still in the most pain-free position and focusing on nothing. I find myself sinking deeper and deeper into myself. I don't watch tv, I don't read (which I love) and there is only silence. I let myself do this for one day only. I call it my recharge day. I allow myself to cry, rant, rave or feel nothing at all. I allow myself a woe is me, chronic illness/pain, the world's not fair pity party. Then I kick my own ass, count my blessings (for there are many) and like the new day "the sun will come out tomorrow". Am I lucky in that this is all it takes to snap me out of it...Hell Yes! Does it always work...Hell No! But I am worth the struggle and so are you. I have discussed all of this with my Dr and while I get depressed I am not depressed, if that makes sense and it should be monitored. Having chronic pain is hard especially when it is an invisible illness and not tangible to most. That does not make it any less valid. So yes, I hear you, I understand and just keep talking.

Definitely! I find that they are definitely linked when you have fibromyalgia.
I just try to pamper myself as much as I can: soak in the tub with Mr. Teal's stress relief beads, watch a good movie, write in my journal, etc. I don't push myself to do anything that will wear me out more, including making dinner or cleaning (my husband finally understands)
I know that some have to work and/or still have children they have to take care for. So, it's harder. But, if you can just take just 15 minutes to do something for yourself, I find that it makes a difference. And, do it without feeling guilty (took me a long time to get to that point). It's never selfish to take care of yourself.

Yes. I find that my mood very much revolves around how I am feeling physically. If I am in too much pain or have severe fatigue I feel kind of hopeless. I try and remind myself that it won't last forever, and that I do have some better days.

Depression is definately an issue for all chronic pain sufferers. Do you take vitamins or any supplements? 5-HTP helps with depression. Also make sure you don't have a Vitamin D deficiency. That can cause a lot of problems. See if you can get a blood workup to check your vitamin, mineral & iron levels. I had some severe deficiencies & didnt know til i got the bloodwork. And extra Vit C in oranges has given me an immunity boost when I'm worn out. And when I'm worn out I get more depressed. I can get a great pickup from blasting one of my favorite songs. I hope this helps!
