Best Way To Pass The Time When Couch Bound?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

For the days that I am not able to get up and the nights I cannot sleep, what do you find is the best way to pass the time? I have netflix and hulu and watch lots of tv shows...any recommendations? I also love to read...recommendations?

I use a timer. Set the timer for 30 mins and watch TV or read. When it goes off I set it for 5 mins and get up and do something around the house. Even if I can only move slow and put two things away, I feel like I am being productive. I go back and forth with my timer all day. For me, sitting for long periods of time without moving is most painful. I also keep a stack of cards beside my couch and write notes to people I care about.

I read a lot on my tablet. I get daily book deals sent to me from Book Bub by email, and a lot of times there will be some that are free. I had Amazon Kindle Unlimited too which had a huge selection of books for $10/month that you couldn't check out up to 10 at a time like a library. Reading has been a great distraction from the pain :)

I use an app called CALM it is free and it has relaxation sounds to help you try to sleep. I also drink a tea before bed from the company Yogi called soothing caramel bedtime. it does make you drowsy and helps get you to sleep.

I love to read and watch TV but my newest obsession is an app on my phone called Real Jigsaw. It's jigsaw puzzles on your phone or tablet!! Very addictive!!

Personally the books with GoT!! The TV series deviates quite a lot, and the books will take up more of your time which is great for Fibro? Although there are quite a few handsome actors. I think Before I Go To Sleep is pretty good, and Stranger on a Train is okay
