Has anyone ever been referred to a specialist nurse for incontinence. If so what should I expect to happen at my first appointment. Will I get an examination or do we just discuss my symptoms. Just wanting to know as I get very anxious about appointments to new services x
I went to an incontinent nurse several years ago. She did examine me and was very supportive. She provided me with a electrical stimulation machine, which made the muscles in my vagina contract. In the end I had a bladder repair (sling) and a double prolapse repair, which took six months get get over, but I haven't looked behind me!

Your story resembles and sounds alot like mine I've had nothing but a string of medical issues dating all the way back to when I was about 8 (very painful periods and I was a very early bloomer) by the time I was 13 my fibromyalgia was in full swing at 33 I can not remember a time when I was not in pain... As far as help (for bladder incontinence) tens unit works great for some I'd give it a try (helped me for awhile) besides fibro I also have I.C. (bladder problem, makes you feel like you have a bladder infection 24/7) I pretty much diagnosed myself and had a E.R. Dr.s help in getting the test done to confirm so talk to dr. See what they think, also kegal's, I find that everyday I have to do around a dozen things (or more) to get small amounts of relief, I don't know your "daily" regiment iis but one thing I do is stretch, very first thing before I get out of bed, hell before I take my meds I stretch, anyways hope some of thus helps
I would recommend asking if botox injections would be helpful. I was rarely incontinent, but always had to go. The injections calmed everything down.
I had that mesh put in and it helped for a few years but now I have to wear incontinence underwear. I wet on myself everyday.
Talk first. They may give a med to try or excersize
