My knees are killing me. This is new. Is this just fibro? Also- what helps you with knee/joint pain? I'm using frozen corn as ice packs on my knees- haven't decided if it helps or not yet.
Never, ever think that a new issue is 'just the fibro'. I have had shoulder and knee injuries that I attributed to the condition only to find out after months of pain that there was actually a different cause for them.
I've had x-Rays and MRIs on my knees and they did find so,e very small tears in the cartilidge but nothing significant. My GP suggested Physio to strengthen inner thigh muscles to help support the knee better. Personally, I think it is Fibro because they started hurting right before my diagnosis. It hurts to climb stairs, kneel, and get up from sitting. Some days are worse than others.
Ya know? I started doing the same thing....it was a wrist....n hurt pretty good too. Told the Dr. If coarse he xrayed it.....not much showed up...ges some arthritis but nothing significant....then it was a shoulder....it hurt bad too.....like 5 months.....then subsided....then my knee...never before and for several months. Had a good amount of swelling. Then started to subside...now gone! I tell you this disease? It really sucks....its very unpredictable!!!! I hate it ....one thing is ya never have to get bord with symptoms.....they can change daily....at least we can look foreward to surprises....lol!!! I know not funny!!! Gotta smile tho or the smiles will be rolling down your cheeks....can't let that happen....gotta find a reason to smile no matter how small the reason!!!!! Bahahaha bahahaaaa!!!!
Acupuncture and Physio helped me until knees were too gone. Osteoarthritis got them bad after a car accident. Have no idea if fibro bothered them too but ended up needing replacement. Had one replaced in 2014 and other Feb 2015.
I have arthritis in my knees as well as the fibromyalgia, you could try wearing a knee support on the really bad days this helps me. I also tryed glucosamine gel which you can massage into your knees, has a soothing affect and gives some relief I found.
