Pregnancy And Fibro
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Curious for finding out about others experience, I am trying for a family. Did being pregnanct exacerbate your pain and symptoms? I have also heard that symptoms have disappeared completely whilst pregnant? Then severe after labour? I am nervous about everything but don't want fibromyalgia to stop me from having kids. I also tried to reduce my meds in view of having kids but just not possible, pain sky rocketed!! Being on meds worry me aswell !!

I think Fibromyalgia makes us tough. If you want children bad enough, you will sustain the pain and you will find relief by making time for yourself and resting. You will probably experience more pain - I did - but you can bear it knowing that it will not be forever. Yes, put aside the meds, but build into your pregnancy routine rest and a support system close at hand (ie. a husband ready to help a lot!).
