What are the best ways to deal with this? I'm tired if faking.
I have fibro fog as well, my family is used to it, they don't exactly understand it,but that's ok. I also have a weekly pill container I fill every week. That way I know I am taking the pills when I need to and the right amounts. When I park to get groceries I park, find something that will remind me where I parked so when I come out most times I find it with no problem. You have to find your own triggers for things. I also use the calendar and mark everything on it. Sticky notes are truly a gift. Its aggravating I know, but trying to force your memory is even more aggravating,so set up your triggers and you will save yourself a lot of hair pulling. Don't ever try to fake you have to accept the way you are before others do.
I don't fake it anymore. I forget things all the time now. I finally just tell people that I have fibro and can't remember stuff all the time. So far I haven't had anyone who hasn't understood. Sometimes it is even better after they know, they are quick to help. Hugs to you.
I forget words in the middle of sentences, i forget where I'm heading in a conversation, I just laugh them off as a fibro brain fart, the girls at work usually know what word I'm looking for and supply it. Sometimes I just drop it and then remember it later. What else can you do? It is what it is and there's no getting around it. Frustrating yes, especially in the middle of something important.
It is wild to be talking and then get distracted, and totaling forget what you were talking about. Or you know a word and you see the word but it won't exit your mouth. I get up to do something and stand there because I can't remember what it was so I sit back and hope no one saw me. So hang in there you'll not alone!! Explain it to who you trust. Soft Hugs to you!!!
@A MyFibroTeam Member I am exactly like you.
My new nickname is Dory, just like the fish in "finding Nemo".
I say to everyone that I was bright before fibro. I feel so stupid most of the time.
