I dont want to hear all the bad things about this medicine. I read those post already, and read more online. I was prescribed lyrica the last medicine they have not tried on me due to the flare i am in. I am also on a two week steroid taper and lodine twice daily. I was put on Lyrica when I was first diagnosed. For me it worked extremely well. I actually went back to living my life as I pleased. I did not gain weight. The only side effect I had was feeling a little spaced out when I first started taking it. I started taking it in 2011 and it worked great for almost four years then I had another flare (probably due to work stress). Now I take cymbalta also and I have had many more side effects from the cymbalta.
@A MyFibroTeam Member please don't let one person's opinion stop you from getting the support from all the positive posters.
@A MyFibroTeam Member i appeeciate your opinion and beliefs they are very valued. However some people including myself have tried alternative routes and diets etc and it did not work. Some people need the medication to have even a slightly better quality of life. It is also not recommended to stop medication without doctor approval. I am sorry i do not feel positive now and do not appreciate being told over and over i am going to die if i take meds. I no longer feel that i want to vent or post. I came on here for support not to be told i will die
@A MyFibroTeam Member every pharmaceutical company has to list every possible side effect for each medication for the safety. But the medications also state that your Dr has determined that the benefit of the drug outweighs the side effects/risks. Please remember we are here to support others dealing with fibro and not push our opinions on others
I was unable to be physically touched by anyone including my kids until I started lyrica. I'm not tired with it and I'm not in excruciating pain like I was before starting it! I have been onnit for 4 years. I would rather be a few pounds heavier and have relief. I know its hard to be self conscious of our bodies but you need to think about the relief
