Periods And Symptoms
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I haven't been on for a while. I have been doing pretty good with meds. However, every month when my period is about to come, all of my horrible fibro symptoms come flooding back. (Pardon the pun. Lol) all the pain, weakness, flu like symptoms, fatigue and depression. I just recently came to the conclusion that this is all related. Am I crazy?

I'm pretty much "out of order" from few days prior to my period, until 5 days after.

I become extreme a week before I start. Extremely mad for no reason. Then extremely sad and cry over everything. Then extreme pain when I start. It's very stressful. I've tried the pill for years. Then iud. Which I felt all the time. And the needle which I would flop from happy to sad to mad every minute.

I always know when I am about to start because the pain intensifies right before. My doctor told me that it happens to a lot of women who have fibromyalgia and it's totally normal.

Thank you. I had a DVT and PE a few years ago and can't take any hormones. I was on the pill for 25 years. Once the dr made me go off my periods got really bad. I've only been suffering from fibromyalgia for about a year and these last few months I've noticed the circulation. There is nothing I can do about it unfortunately. I was just wondering if it was normal. Thanks.
