I Heard Getting New Symptoms, Means They Will Always Reoccur. Do You Think This Is True?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I started getting migraines a few weeks ago and when I start flaring the migraines get worse and have been happening frequently. When I was talking to a medical professional he said each new symptom someone with fibro gets, will likely reoccur. What do you guys think?

I've had migraines since I was a teen then they stopped for awhile when I started taking meds for PCOS. Last year they came back and I was having several a month. Then a few a week. I was also getting severe headaches and those wouldn't respond to over the counter meds and then would turn to migraines. With evo thing else I was dealing with at the time I kept putting off going to yet another doctor. When I finally went to the rheumatologist for the first time & was diagnosed with fibro, I brought up this issue with the migraines. He said it was most likely the fibro and the constant pain I was in and suggested I talk to my regular doctor about getting on medication to prevent them. I started taking topomax a few months ago and it has helped a lot! I've only had a few bad headaches and 3 mild migraines since. I suggest keeping track of your migraines, as well as all symptoms, for awhile. And look around online for more info about migraines. There are several different types of migraines.

I get migraines since I was twelve and I have never had a doctor say they are only in the back of the head, that is only one type. Mine are always above my eye on one side usually my right but sometimes my migraines like to play games with me and appear on the left. My friend gets them behind her head and my husband gets ocular migraines which are migraines that start in the eye.

@A MyFibroTeam Member my dr explained to me that with a true migraine you could pinpoint the spot it hurts the most. Ex.. It hurts straight down from the middle of your head and straight in from a different area and the meet in a spot. Could be front back or middle. If it hurts in an area but no clear location it's just a bad headache. I take rx meds for them.. 👎👎

I also have "migraine headaches". One Dr told me that migraine headaches are in the back of the head, mine are in the front so I've decided these are fibromyalgia headaches. I take butals or extra strength Tylenol.
