When I TRY to sleep, my body, my head, my hair, etc are covered in sweat. I have to keep my room an ice box and the cover myself to even get any rest. I am looking for one of those pillows that helps keep you cool. Does anyone use one and which one. Also besides ordering bamboo sheets (thaks for the advice everybody) if anybody has any other ideas, please pass them on.
Thanks
Laura
I purchased a cold gel pillow from Amazon and have never slept a little better it absorbs all the heat from my body so I don't sweat in the night just need one I can wear all day for work now ..
Hi Laura, I used to keep my room like an ice box until it was explained that it makes it worse with the sweating because my body temp differs between the inside and outside with the environment temp. Crazy, but I find it true and I just keep my room with the fan on instead of too cold. But, this is a hard one because there are nights when there is nothing, and I mean nothing helps, but for the most part changing pillows helped. There are gel pillows that help with these crazy body spells and I find if my head is not sweating, I can deal with the rest since my fan is on. There are so many different types of sheets, and it does make a difference what you use. I stay away from cotton sheets since it absorbs heat, all other sheets seem to be much better than cotton..so just a suggestion.
I use a medication called Dysol prescribed by my MD. But I was also sweating really bad during the day also. And MD thought might be in peri-menopause. Can always look into it? You apply it at night. It has helped when I have really bad episodes.
it's funny, the blue on my hand was so bad it took almost a week to fad off... I'm glad I'm not the only one who had strange hair dye bleeding! I am lucky though the gal I go see is basically family so she gives me a great deal! Anything to save cash!!!!
I know now that I'm taking vitamin D my night sweats and forehead sweats have gotten better, it's not great but better. The worse was when my neck, forehead and hand got covered in new hair dye color from sweating so bad. It was a blue tint so it look!ed like somebody tried to strangle me or something icky like that (and I promise - It was just blue hair dye!)
