Has Anyone Had A Foos Allerfy/sensitivity Test Done That Is Reliable?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am having lots of challenges with food. Doctor days I don't have an allergy to gluten but I a have Hashimotos which most functional doctors say is a trigger. IIt is so gard to keep a diary with the fatigue and brain fog. I would like to get the most reliable food sensitivity test done. Any recommendations?

Agreed @A MyFibroTeam Member anaphylaxis is NOT fun. It does also depend on who you go to, that is correct. Although, I was told that I most likely have a very unique system that won't allow them to accurately diagnose my allergies (I tested positive to different control water samples as well). I had 3 sets of allergy shots in different clinics and with each set I developed 10x more allergies. The allergy clinics (I went to several through the years) finally told me they couldn't help me any more and that I would just have to avoid everything I reacted to. The anaphylaxis causing allergies are the easy ones to pinpoint. The more vague ones are harder and take longer to figure out, especially contact dermatitis allergies.

From what I have been told, most of the food sensitivity tests aren't reliable. I turn up positive for things that I am not sesitive to and don't show a reaction to things I actually go into shock from. Like @A MyFibroTeam Member I have so many allergies that started in childhood. My have built up over the years. I am on a restricted diet that eliminates all the things we know that I am allergic to and a diabetic diet for my pre-diabetes.

Yes, great advice ForsakenAngel.. you must ingest gluten for a few weeks prior. Eeeew.. reminds me of when I had to eat gluten and wheat products prior to my testing, 15 years ago. Makes me feel ill just thinking about it now!

I have Hashimoto's and Coeliac disease and the two autoimmune conditions are often linked. It is recommended that you eat gluten free with Hashimoto's anyway, but I'd ask for a Coeliac blood test (if you've not done already) Coeliac can only be properly confirmed with a biopsy though but a blood test suggesting it, is a good place to start.
