Thank you, yes...I agree my FM symptoms are more sensitive because of the Chiari. I live on the East Coast so I am subject to EVERY weather change as well, at or below freezing temps, extremely humid weather and Hot Summers, Rain with drops it Barometric temp have an effect of my migraines and headaches. I have heard that AZ is one of the best states for people like us, as the weather there can help people with FM because there is little to no humidity??? I don't know how true it is as we seem to have symptoms regardless of where we live..lol...I get headaches almost daily as I am a back sleeper and rarely move at night, having the pillow propped up behind my head seems to cause me to have headaches behind my ears no matter what? And if I wear sunglasses I can't prop them on my head for too long as the pressure behind my ears starts to really hurt...I've been contributing all this symptoms to not the FM but more specifically towards Chiari. Yes, it is a birth defect and people have it and don't know until a chance MRI points it out. Have they told you which stage it is? Mine is One, bordering 2 because of the head/ear problems. It can be very serious if we have even a small mishap like falling, or being in even a minor car accident...At least we are aware so we can be proactive. Thank you for your encouragement and insight! Gentle Hug!!
I have Chiari Malformation as well. I was told, when diagnosed, that is a birth defect. I do, feel any other issue can contribute to the FM being a little more sensitive. Since moving to AZ and watching what I eat, also not yelling or when I sing, doing it too hard, my migraines have been less than in the Midwest with the drastic weather changes. I hope that answer gives you some encouragement.
Glad that helped. I was told 1. I have had a major auto accident 17 years ago but GOD is good and I'm still at stage one according to the last scan. Things rolled behind your neck, I.e., pillow can cause a problem. But you gotta do what you gotta do to get sleep
Sorry, I'm still new to this forum. But does anyone else suffer from Chiari Malformation and FM? Migraines too? I want to know if the Chiari Malformation could be contributing to my FM symptoms and essential make them more exasperated?
