Pain
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I try to ignore the pain by staying busy. But as soon as I sit or lay down I hurt so bad I feel like im gonna get sick. I take norontin 300mg in morn and 600 at night. Helps with that irritable tingling. What does any one suggest. Its getting to the point I cant take it

Taking pain meds, or any type of medication or supplement, is often every bit as essential to the chronic pain patient as insulin is for a person with diabetes striving to control their disease so they can live a good, healthy, life and NOT end up in the hospital all the time! It's incredibly ignorant of anyone (and arrogant) to judge
a persons character based soley on the contents of their prescription bottle!!! Never let anyone make you feel bad about using any legitimate resource you can to LIVE a life that is really a life, rather than just existing from day to day. Have a great morning, going to go finish setting up the greenhouse😁 and get growing😀 🌱🍃

Sing it sister! Unless someone is living with the ongoing hell that we all live with every moment of every day.....then they are in no position to even have an opinion, much less a judgement! I also have wished I could "swap" bodies with thosee who have judged me (and others like me) so harshly. I would bet good money that they wouldn't last even an hour before they'd be begging for morphine!!! None of us need ever feel ashamed or embarrassed about anything that allows us to live with a disease we NEVER asked for in the first place. Apologize to no one and accept no ones judgemental attitude.....EVER!

I was diagnosed in 1996 so been battling with it for a while. When I got to it sounds like you are I gave up and decided I had to do something. I found a Dr. That suffers pain also so she understands fibro. She put me on the Duragesic pain patch 50 mg change every 72 hrs. It's the best thing I've ever done. There's always a stigma to pain Meds but at this point I just want to have a better quality of life. It helps so well because it's there all time so it controls the pain better. I may have a flare up after a busy day or bad weather but never like it was before. I don't love the stigma that goes with it but I wish all the people that have something negative to say about it could live in my body for one day. Hope this helps you to know you can keep living with fibro!

We all have in one way or another, whether its cutting or drinking or whatever...you just want some control of your body back, and anything that gives you that sense of control, (an complete illusion all by itself when you realize what you are really doing)....and I do mean anything, makes a lot more sense in the face of relentless, endless terrible pain. You just have to remeber that there's a reason torture works.....because making it stop becomes all you can think about and pray for. This is why it's so imoirtant to find the right person (provider sounds so cold) to get help from. Dont give up, and dont give in. Fight for every day in every way yiu can abd dont let anyone tell you tgat yiu are "imagining" the pain and exhaustion. Hang in there Jo.
