Wrap an ace bandage around calf or thigh of affected side. Helps my partner tremendously. They also sell a wrap designed for this issue. Hope it helps :)

When my sciatic gives me grief I find a couple of deep tissue massages really help me.

I find that doing the "pigeon" yoga move helps my sciatica amazingly. I hate doing yoga personally, but when the pain strikes I'll do anything that helps. I normally hold this position for about 10 minutes to give the muscle a good stretch. Hope this helps you too!

Well, I pretty much just got used to it. I am finally seeing a rheumatologist next month.

I picked up a prescription of Lrica. It did help the nerve pain, but I got very dizzy and it turned out to be Lyrics. I did take one last night, but the doctor said I shouldn't take it once in awhile. Nuerontin helped me gain a ton of weight. I weened myself off of it and it made me worse, but felt better once off of it.
