Has Anyone Heard Of Shots Given Once A Week For Four Weeks, Then Once A Month That Seem To "cure" Fibromyalgia?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Yesterday, I took my daughter to get her first "real" haircut (I cut her hair). While waiting on us, my boyfriend was talking to an elderly gentleman. His first wife had died from heart complications and my boyfriend mentioned me and fibromyalgia. He said that he knew all about it, that she suffered from it for many years as well. That she would hurt so bad that she couldn't move, her moods were up and down, etc. My boyfriend asked what treatments she used. The man told her that she went to the… read more

This could be the B12 injection. I had it over the same period and it did nothing at all.

Hi I have been taking vitamin B12=1000mgs in a tablet. I also am taking coQ 10 -- 100mgs, vitamin E-6000 and a B-Complex, I was given these by a doctor down at USC University Hospital. His specialty was neurology, muscle skeletal problem, and other auto-immune diseases, plus other syndromes. I take it everyday. I did get back a lot of my energy and it was helping my poly neuropathy. When I was diagnoses with Fibro, all my symptoms got worse. Now I am a mess. The pain, numbness, shooting pain, extreme fatigue, and everything else that goes along with Fibro. I can not really tell if the vitamins are helping or not. I still take them,as it might be worse without. I am on cymbolta and it does not even touch the pain. I hope you have a good night. Hugs. Linda

The Mayo clinic works very closely with Fibro however they may have something that makes it more tolerable but not a cure. At this point they still don't truly know what causes this so there is no cure as of yet. Hopefully some day they are working on it. Hugs Christine

Trigger point injection do help make the pain easier to deal with and you can get them once a month until you get the pain under control then a couple every 6 months. Insurance, medicare and state, does cover these but I don't think they cost $2000 each. My mom use to get some costly ones that had gold in it but haven't heard of those in along time.

@A MyFibroTeam Member That may be something that I'll ask the pain specialist when I go. We all know the pain gets so bad that we'd be willing to do just about anything to get rid of it. I've heard about doing acupuncture, but haven't tried it yet
